The simplest approach resolving dwarven sleeping requirements is to have all your dwarves sleep in a large communal dormitory. The smallest bedroom design possible is a corridor with notched spaces for beds. Players frequently want designs which maximize positive thought and minimize the path distance between a dwarf's food, drink, job and home. If any regular dwarf has a more valuable room than the count, the count will be unhappy. Now say in that same fortress, one of your dwarves is made the Baron of another site. The Baron's room has to be more valuable than the count's, and the count's room has to be more valuable than all of the other dwarves.
