Hello all, I'm new to the forums and I'm looking to get into the k98 game. I was wondering which K98 manufacturer and/or year has the best production quality. It is actually a sporterized version, but it appears that what they did to it was to remove the upper "hand guard" and chop the lower one down to the rear sight. I try the "database" to date the firearm but had no luck.

It is easy to say perhaps the blue circle is already from 1941 since no confirming document is found yet. But I have thought the circle was one result of winter war in 1941, so I would think the other way.
