If you want to add boost, like turbocharging, then go LQ4. If you just want to race between stoplights, then start with the L92. The L92 has less low-rpm torque than the LQ9. The defecit at 1500 rpm is 30 ft-lbs. On the dyno the numbers were no dramatically different, but the improvement was throughout the entire RPM range so that in itself is pretty impressive.Here is an idea that should be an easy 500HP, basic stock, and not a great deal of money. LQ4 LS engine (basicaly a LS2 just iron block) and L92 heads. LQ4 can be had for under 1K, L92 heads are GREAT heads and complete for around 1K, LS2 intake, and a thumper or LS6 cam.
