Sometime after 1E 221 , the Dwemer discovered a new raw mineral while mining in FahlZhardum Din, more commonly known as Blackreach .There is only one aetherium crest in the game and it is a quest item that can't be dropped or duped while picking it up and it needs you to have 4 aetherium shards to make it. While the shards can be duped by spam clicking them you cannot use 4 shards to make another aetherium crest. So to answer your question you need to remove quest item from ...From what we see in Morrowind and Skyrim I'd postulate that it was made from Dwemeri metal rather than Aetherium. Dwemeri metal is the same colour as Keening (mostly) unlike Aetherium and is also from Vvardenfell unlike Aetherium. Seeing as the Numidium was made from Dwemeri Metal as well as the Animunculi I'd say the Tools were too.The UESP makes no mention of this glitch. Also check your inventory as it might be under the name ‘Aetherium Shard’ or ‘Glowing Crystal Shard’. Have you been to "deep folk crossing" yet. It's a small dwarven bridge thing near Markarth.. at the end, there's a plinth with a Dwarven helmet with a sword in its "mouth".. go to the other side ...
