You add two weeks because the 1-2 is an indication of when you ovulated/conceived, whereas when the dr/midwife calculates your DD they use your last menstrual cycle. Read the instructions in the packet.Basically, if i just say my cycles are average 47 days, how far along would that make me.. If i go from date of last period (4th dec) which midwife said to do.. That makes me 8 weeks 1 day.. But i think i conceived on or around the 1st of jan.. So i'm basically adding on 4 weeks instead of the usual 2 weeks that a 28 day cycle would add.
