People make 650+ on Turbo 5.3s all the time. Not sure about long term but they seem to handle it well. Prob a little lower on S/C. 6L80 should be ok if it's anywhere as tough as the 4L80 it replaced. If I were to buy a bone-stock 5.0L right now, a 190 lph fuel pump would be one of my first mods. As far as a max HP rating, I'm not positive but it couldn't be much over 225.The S motors are rated at 180 HP @ 3400 and 360 ft/lbs @ 1800 . However to add some confusion, the is a little * beside the rating for the 97 and 98 years for both the F and S engines. The explination beside the * says "Heavy Duty - 385 ft/lb @ 1800". I have a 3/4 ton S engine,, does that might I have 180 HP and 385 ft/lbs??
