Honda accord whining noise when accelerating

I don’t think it’s the power steering pump, but it’s a similar sound, coming from that general area, but turning the wheel doesn’t have an effect on the sound - only pushing on the gas pedal. Since it increases with steering input I would suggest you check the power steering fluid level. The pump will whine if low on fluid. If it is low top it off and find out where it is leaking. The pump in the trans can make a very similar whine noise if low on fluid but that should not be related to steering input.

The trans oil only had a little pink in it but I've done two drain and fills with DW Honda fluid and now it looks really good. When taking off it has a whine to it that follows the motor RPMs to about 3500 where the grunt of the motor covers any whining noise. ….

The Mechanic showed me a Technical Service Bulletin regarding "whining" A/T for 03 Elements, 99 - 04 Odysseys, and 03-04 PILOTS. He said that it is a common problem and that the only way to "cure" the noise is by replacing the tranny.I’ve got a 2019 Accord with 4700 miles.
