Entry sensors last last many years but I proactively replaced all of mine at 3. The battery is replaced, not the sensor. Here's a link for SS3 in the support center1. Take your entry sensor and pull off the battery tab. 2. Remove the backing from your sensor's adhesive strip. Line it up on your door or windowframe, making sure the notches are facing in the direction where you want to place the magnet. Affix your sensor by pressing firmly. 3.If you have a good battery and everything seems fine with the sensor you need to completely remove it from your system and then reinstall it.
