Pull the magazine spring and follower out of the open end of the magazine tube.I ordered the L&M Single Ring Shotgun Magazine Tube Light Mount for a Mossberg 500 20 gauge shotgun. What arrived was for a Winchester 1300 Defender or Mossberg 590/500A and others but NOT Mossberg 500. The device doesn't and can't fit the mag tube because of the size differences. I requested a RMA from Rhonda on July 3 but have yet to receive one.
